The White House

Opgrimbie sits on the boundary between two landscapes. To the west lies Hoge Kempen National Park, Flanders' largest contiguous forest and heathland area, with the Mechelse Heide as a gateway within cycling distance. To the east, the landscape slopes down towards the Meuse, home to the dikes, gravel lakes and ferry boats of the Meuse Valley.

That means a group can experience two completely different days here without driving far. One day you walk across purple-blooming heathland and through pine forest, the next you cycle along the water to Maaseik or cross over into Dutch Limburg. Terhills and Maasmechelen Village are both within a ten-minute drive, and Maastricht can be reached in about half an hour.

For a group of twenty, the outdoor pool makes all the difference. Anyone staying behind has something to do while the rest are out exploring, and at the end of a warm day everyone gathers back by the same water. Because the pool is heated, the season extends well beyond the summer months alone.
