What are allowances & taxes?
Your booking shows a line called 'Toeslagen & Belastingen' (allowances & taxes). That is a fixed guest charge from specialstays. Local tourist and stay levies differ per municipality and property, so they are not automatically equal to this amount.
specialstays charges a fixed guest-related charge on reservations. You see it on your booking as the line 'Allowances & Taxes'.
Local tourist, stay and other levies differ widely per municipality and property. They can be calculated per person, per night, per bed, per stay or on another basis. Where local levies apply, we handle them separately in line with the local rules.
The amount shown as 'Allowances & Taxes' is therefore not automatically equal to the local tourist tax. For houses where no local levy applies, the line is simply called 'Allowances'.
The amount you see when booking and in your booking confirmation is the amount that applies. No surcharges or taxes are added afterwards.
